from the management - September 2000 :
*Texas are back in the public eye after months of recording!
Monday October 2nd is the official UK release date for the brand new Texas single 'In Demand'. The song, co-written with Dallas Austin in Miami, has already gained extensive airplay, and looks sure to be yet another massive hit for the band. Those of you who have seen the fantastic new video will be sure to have noticed actor Alan Rickman making a special guest appearance. Sharleen and the boys will be appearing on loads of TV and radio shows in the run up to the single release - check out the website for more news as dates are confirmed. You can listen to an audio clip of In Demand at the site http://www.texas.uk.com/latest or you can download the In Demand E-Card http://www.texas.uk.com/download
Those of you who haven't already been in the new Texas chat-room should check it out - a big hit already, and a great opportunity to chat with fellow Texas fans. The big news is, band members may go in to chat with fans at some point in the future, and if they do, we will announce it on the site before-hand. Yes, we are very aware of some cheeky fans masquerading as band members in the chat-room, but we'll make sure you know when it is genuine!
Many, many enquiries have been coming in about a Texas Tour in the near future. Nothing has been arranged as yet, but keep on visiting the site and an official announcement will be made when, and if, tour dates are confirmed.
Finally, Pam Gallimore from England was this months lucky winner of the mailing-list prize draw. Congratulations!

A computer generated, animated, Sci-Fi fantasy movie by Twentieth Century
Fox, featuring the voices of Drew Barrymore and Matt Damon. A movie which
has already made history, with the June 6th premiere being beamed over
the internet onto a digital projector in Atlanta - hence removing the
need for film. All very interesting, but what does this have to do with
Texas?! Well, Sharleen and the boys were approached and asked to co-write
a song for the movie soundtrack with award winning songwriter and producer,
Glen Ballard. They came up with the brilliant 'Like Lovers (Holding On)',
which you'll hear when the soundtrack is released at the end of July.
The album also includes tracks from Jamiroquai and Fun Lovin Criminals,
stepping away from the orchestrated soundtracks traditionally featured
in animated movies. *'Like Lovers (Holding On)' will not be released as
a single in the UK and Europe.
Texas' Greatest Hits album is due to be released at the end of the year
(no definite date yet, but we'll let you know as soon as it's confirmed).
The band are working on a couple of new songs for inclusion in the album
which are being recorded in Miami, Atlanta, Glasgow and London.
* Merchandise will be made fully available on the Official Texas Website
from 3rd July 2000.
* E-mail draw announcement to come very soon on the website.
